This Privacy Policy describes how Voltra LLC ("Voltra," "we," "us," or "our"), located at 11 Nathan Drive, Old Bridge, NJ 08857, collects, uses, and discloses personal information when you use the Voltra-hosted payment portal (the "Payment Portal") to send or receive payments in connection with a vehicle purchase, down payment, trade-in, or related transaction with a dealership that uses the Voltra platform (a "Dealer"). This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into, and should be read together with, the Voltra Consumer Payment Terms of Service.
Voltra provides software that Dealers use to request and send payments and to verify the identity of the customers they transact with. For the identity verification and payment functionality described in this Privacy Policy, Voltra determines the purposes and means of processing your personal information and is the controller of that information. Voltra uses service providers, including Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") and Modern Treasury (together with its underlying banking partners, the "Payment Processor"), to perform identity verification, account linking, and payment processing on Voltra's behalf and in accordance with Voltra's instructions.
2.1 Information Voltra Collects or Receives Directly. In connection with a Transaction, Voltra collects or receives the following information about you:
Your name and email address, which are pre-filled by Voltra from the payment record provided by the Dealer.
Your phone number, which you enter and which is verified by SMS.
Identity verification results, consisting of a verification identifier, the verification status, the outcome of each verification step, and associated timestamps.
Transaction information, such as the amount, timing, and status of payments you send or receive through the Payment Portal.
2.2 Information You Provide Directly to Plaid. Before a payment can be processed, you will be directed to Plaid's interface to verify your identity and, separately, to link your bank account. In that process, you enter the following information directly into Plaid's interface:
Your date of birth.
Your home address.
Your Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.
Your bank account credentials and financial account information (account and routing numbers, balance, and transaction history), as described in the Voltra Consumer Payment Terms of Service.
This information is entered into Plaid's interface and is not received or stored by Voltra's servers. Voltra receives from Plaid only the verification identifier, verification status, per-step outcomes, and associated timestamps described in Section 2.1. Plaid also collects device and network information (such as device identifiers, IP address, and related risk signals) in the background during the verification process, and runs a database check against the information above to help confirm your identity, in each case as described in Plaid's end-user privacy statement referenced in Section 4. Voltra does not currently collect or receive an identity document image or selfie photograph from you as part of this process.
Voltra uses the information described in Section 2.1 to: (a) operate and provide the Payment Portal; (b) verify your identity and prevent fraud in connection with a Transaction; (c) communicate with you about a Transaction, including by sending secure payment links and status updates; (d) provide customer support; and (e) comply with applicable law and respond to legal process.
Plaid performs identity verification and bank account linking and verification on Voltra's behalf, acting as Voltra's service provider under Voltra's instructions. When you use Plaid's interface, Plaid presents a link to its end-user privacy statement before it collects any information from you, so that its privacy statement functions as a notice provided at the point of collection, not merely as a reference elsewhere in this Privacy Policy. Plaid's collection, use, and disclosure of the information you provide directly to Plaid, and of the device, network, and verification-related information Plaid collects, is described in Plaid's end-user privacy statement, currently available at https://plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy. We encourage you to review Plaid's end-user privacy statement, as it governs Plaid's own processing of your information and is not restated in full in this Privacy Policy.
We share the information described in Section 2.1 with: (a) the Dealer with which you are transacting, to the extent necessary to complete the Transaction and provide customer support; (b) Plaid and the Payment Processor, to the extent necessary for them to perform identity verification, account linking, and payment processing on our behalf; (c) service providers who support our business operations (such as hosting, customer support, and analytics providers), under obligations to protect your information; and (d) regulators, law enforcement, or other parties as required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Voltra, our users, or others. We do not sell your personal information.
We retain the information described in Section 2.1 for as long as necessary to provide the Payment Portal, comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (including recordkeeping obligations related to financial transactions), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information described in Section 2.1 against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Payment Portal is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You can decline to complete identity verification or bank account linking, but doing so will prevent you from completing a Transaction through the Payment Portal. You may review, manage, or revoke the connections you have authorized through Plaid at any time using the tools Plaid makes available for that purpose, or by contacting your financial institution directly.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to: (a) know or access the personal information we have collected about you; (b) delete personal information we have collected from you; (c) correct inaccurate personal information; (d) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or of profiling in furtherance of certain decisions; and (e) not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. As stated in Section 5, Voltra does not sell your personal information. To exercise any rights available to you under applicable state law, contact us using the information in Section 11. We may need to verify your identity before responding to your request, and certain information may be exempt from these rights under applicable law, including information necessary for us to complete a Transaction, comply with legal obligations, or detect and prevent fraud.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise any rights described above, contact Voltra LLC at 11 Nathan Drive, Old Bridge, NJ 08857, or by email at support@voltra.ai.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by posting the updated Privacy Policy at this URL or through other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Payment Portal after the effective date of any update constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised Privacy Policy.
