Voltra Payments · Now rolling out

The certified check, without the drive.

Collect down payments, deposits, and payoffs from anywhere, and pay out trade equity and refunds, bank-to-bank, from inside the platform your team already works in. Every payment is verified before the money moves. Payments are processed through regulated U.S. banking partners; Voltra provides the platform and never holds your funds.

Remote money still runs on 2005 rails

A customer three hours away wants to put money down tonight. Your options today: read a card number over the phone and give up 2.5 to 3% of the amount, plus the chargeback exposure that comes with every card-not-present payment. Take a personal check and wait days to find out if it clears. Or make the customer drive to the store with a certified check, and hope the deal survives the drive.

Money going out is no better. Trade equity and refund checks go in the mail, and then someone in the office spends Friday chasing which ones cleared.

How a payment moves

Three steps, all tied to the deal your team is already working in Voltra.

1. Create the payment on the deal. Down payment, deposit, or payoff. The amount and the deal are linked from the start, so nothing needs to be matched up later.

2. The customer gets a secure link. They connect their bank once, on Voltra's hosted payment page. No card number read over the phone, no account details written on a sticky note at the desk.

3. Verification runs before the money moves. Then the funds transfer bank-to-bank by ACH. Your team watches the status the whole way.

Created Link Sent Verified Settled + Flagged for Review

Verified before the money moves

This is the part card readers and check scanners never gave you. Before a payment is submitted, Voltra checks that the bank account is real, that the account owner matches your customer, and that the funds are actually there, and it produces a return-risk score.

Then your team decides. Voltra puts the verification results in front of the people who run your store; it never approves or declines a payment on its own. You keep the judgment. You just stop exercising it blind.

The review queue

A payment that comes back with a name mismatch or a thin balance gets flagged and lands in a review queue, with the verification results attached. The office sees exactly why it was flagged and makes the call before anything moves. No more finding out about a bad payment two weeks after delivery.

Pay out as easily as you collect

Trade equity and refunds run on the same rails in the other direction. The customer who had equity in their trade gets paid bank-to-bank instead of watching the mailbox for a check. The refund that used to sit unreconciled in a drawer posts with the deal it belongs to. Fewer checks to cut, fewer checks to chase.

Every dollar leaves a trail

Every payment carries a lifecycle status from created to settled. Every money event lands in a tamper-resistant audit trail: who created it, when it was verified, when it moved. When a deposit dispute shows up six months later, you're not reconstructing what happened from memory and a deal jacket. The record is already there.

What the customer pays

The customer sees a payment verification fee, disclosed up front before they pay. It covers instant verification of funds and account ownership, plus on-the-spot confirmation that the payment went through. It's the certified check they didn't have to drive over.

Paying this way is optional. Customers can always pay at the store instead, same as they do today.

It lives where the deal lives

Payments is not another portal with another login. It's part of Voltra, tied to the same deals your team already works. The deposit shows up next to the deal log entry it belongs to. Money owed on delivered deals sits in Vehicle A/R. Lender money in motion is tracked in cash in transit. Now the customer money moves through the same screen too.

F&I Manager
Sends the payment link before delivery and sees verification results on the deal.
Biller
Tracks payoffs and refunds without cutting and chasing checks.
Controller
Works the review queue and has the audit trail for every money event.
GM
Sees every dollar in motion, in and out, on one screen.

Your DMS stays untouched

Like everything in Voltra, Payments works on top of the systems you already run. Your DMS keeps doing its job exactly as it does today, and payments are created and tracked in Voltra, on the deal your team already works in. Nothing gets ripped out, nothing gets migrated.

Voltra Payments is now rolling out to Voltra dealers. Setup runs store by store with our team, so the fastest way to get in line is a demo. For the rest of the platform, start at all features.

Common questions about Voltra Payments

Create the payment in Voltra, tied to the deal. The customer gets a secure link, connects their bank once on Voltra's hosted payment page, and the funds move by ACH bank transfer. No card number read over the phone, no waiting on a check in the mail, no customer driving back to the store.

Before a payment is submitted, Voltra checks that the bank account is real, that the account owner matches the customer, and that the funds are present, and it produces a return-risk score. Your team sees that information and makes the call. Voltra informs; it never approves or declines a payment.

Yes. Disbursements run on the same rails in the other direction. Trade equity and refunds go bank-to-bank instead of as a check in the mail, and every one is tracked on the deal with a full audit trail.

No. Payments are processed through regulated U.S. banking partners; Voltra provides the platform and never holds your funds.
